Connections make the world go round.

Whatever industry you’re in or whatever you’re selling, it’s the relationships you build with your customers that count. This is even more important if you’re trying to bring customers to your newly opened restaurant, hotel, spa
or venue, or breathe new life into your existing one.

About Me

I’m Adam Yeomans, a freelance British English translator, and everything in my life, from the personal to the professional, revolves around making new connections and strengthening existing ones.

As cliché as it may sound, I’m a people person.

So, that being said… pleased to meet you!

A world of connections

Raised in Clevedon, near Bristol, in the UK, I first discovered my love for languages at the tender age of 12 during a school exchange visit to Clevedon’s twin town of Ettlingen, near Karlsruhe, in south-west Germany.

Rather poetically, after having returned here many times since to work, study, or just enjoy holidays, I relocated to Ettlingen in 2017 and am now proud to call this beautiful little town on the river Alb home.

I may have been born in Britain, but I’m a proud European. The fact that I’m based here in Germany means that my European clients don’t have to worry about factoring in exchange rates or paying exorbitant currency conversion fees when working with me.

I launched AY Linguistic in 2014 and have been working as a British English translator – from German, French and Italian to English – editor and English teacher ever since, forging strong connections with long-term clients.

I now use my love of languages and keen eye for detail on a daily basis to help businesses and organisations like yours communicate clearly and effectively with their English-speaking audiences.

You work hard to produce your content… now let it work hard for you!

Behind the scenes

I know I’ve already mentioned that I’m a people person. But I really am!

I love the fact that my professional life allows me to have contact with people from all over the world, but my hobbies are all about connecting with people too.

When I’m not working as a freelance British English translator, you can normally find me spending time with friends, taking day trips to nearby towns and cities, or to our neighbouring countries (Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, France). Otherwise, I’m often at the local pub, where I also run a weekly quiz night.

One of my favourite hobbies is Postcrossing, sending handwritten postcards to other members around the world. It’s a fantastic international community that I feel privileged to be a part of and makes me feel like I’m travelling the world even when I’m at home in Ettlingen, translating your marketing copy.
