My name is Adam Yeomans. I am a British national, English is my native tongue and I live in Clevedon, North Somerset. I have been interested in languages, communication and travelling from quite a young age. This passion was first sparked at the age of 11, during my first school exchange visit to the Karslruhe area in south west Germany. Since then, I haven't looked back!
I completed a triple-major BA (Hons) in German, French and Italian at the University of Wales – Bangor in 2006. This degree included semesters abroad in Florence, Lyon and Vienna. An MA in European Studies followed, after which I moved to Germany where I worked for two years as a language assistant in three schools in and around Karlsruhe. This was great preparation for the PGCE in Secondary Modern Languages which I undertook upon my return to the UK. I completed a second MA, this time in Translation, in September 2014, which I passed with Distinction. Since launching AYLinguistic in 2014, I have specialised in:
German/French - English: travel and tourism, advertising/marketing, press releases, journalism, general business correspondence. Italian - English: travel and tourism (accepted on a case-by-case basis).
Since 2014, I have also been volunteering as a translator for Watching America and continue to put my teaching experience to good use, teaching English to foreign exchange students during the school holidays.
